Twenty-one-year-old Kelsey Leon Marshall of Columbus, Georgia, a 2015 graduate of Carver High School, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017. Born in Columbus on October 16, 1996, Kelsey was known for her vibrant spirit and creative soul.
Kelsey was an employee at a local Waffle House, but her passions extended far beyond her work.
She found joy in expressing herself through singing, dancing, and writing poetry. Those who knew her cherished the time they spent with her, remembering a life filled with creativity and meaningful connections with her loved ones. Her sudden passing left her loving mother, Colette Marshall, her father, Dennis Garrett, her twin brother, Kendall L. Marshall, and another brother, Korey R. Marshall, to navigate a world without her bright presence. Her extended family, including her grandfather, great-grandmother, a special aunt, and a host of other relatives, friends, and coworkers, also mourned her deeply.
Funeral services to celebrate Kelsey's life were held on Monday, December 18, 2017, at the Nazareth Baptist Church in Columbus. Following the service, she was laid to rest at the Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Waverly Hall, Georgia. The outpouring of love and support for her family was a testament to the number of lives she had touched in her short time.
