Julia Kathleen Pryde, a 23-year-old graduate student in the Biological Systems Engineering department at Virginia Tech, tragically lost her life on April 16, 2007, during the mass shooting on the university's campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. Pryde was among the 32 victims killed by Seung-Hui Cho, a senior at Virginia Tech, who carried out the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history.
