Emily Jane Hilscher, a 19-year-old freshman at Virginia Tech, tragically lost her life on April 16, 2007, during the Virginia Tech shooting in Blacksburg, Virginia. Emily was a dedicated student majoring in animal and poultry sciences, with aspirations of becoming an equine veterinarian. She was known for her love of animals, particularly horses, and was an active member of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association.
