Minal Hiralal 'Minu' Panchal, a 26-year-old master's student in Building Sciences at Virginia Tech, tragically lost her life on April 16, 2007, during the Virginia Tech shootings in Blacksburg, Virginia. Born on July 17, 1980, in Mumbai, India, Minal was passionate about architecture and had moved to the United States to pursue her postgraduate studies. She was in Norris Hall, one of the buildings targeted by the shooter, Seung-Hui Cho, a senior at Virginia Tech.
