In the evening hours of April 6, 2023, in a west valley neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona, a sequence of events unfolded that would end in the tragic death of 18-year-old Anthony Muriel. Around 6:45 p.m., Phoenix police officers were dispatched to the vicinity of 35th Avenue and McClellan Boulevard after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered evidence that a shooting had indeed occurred, but the victim was nowhere in sight.
