On July 13, 2015, at approximately 2:17 a.m., 35-year-old Jamal Weeks was fatally shot in the 900 block of West North Street in Dover, Delaware. The Dover Police Department responded to the scene and launched a homicide investigation.

Detectives interviewed potential witnesses and residents in the area in an effort to identify a suspect. The incident marked the fifth homicide in the City of Dover during the 2015 calendar year.
