On December 25, 2020, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Dover police responded to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital following reports of a gunshot victim. The victim, later identified as 29-year-old Jermaine Scott of Dover, had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
