Jermaine Scott, a 29-year-old Black male from Dover, was shot in the early hours of December 25, 2020. Around 2:13 a.m., officers were alerted when a gunshot victim arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital by private vehicle; Scott succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the emergency department. Investigators traced the incident back to the Town Pointe Apartments area on Carvel Drive, anchoring the brief, violent episode to a quiet holiday night that suddenly shattered.
