Tyler Parton, a 24-year-old white man from Dover, Delaware, was found dead on December 6, 2016, behind a home in the Pinewood Acres neighborhood off Aspen Drive. In the pre-dawn hours that Tuesday, a 3:06 a.m. 911 call reported gunshots in the area; by around 7:30 a.m., officers discovered Parton in the backyard of a residence in the 400 block—specifically tied in state records to 462 Aspen Drive—with a single gunshot wound.
