Antonio Drummond, a 45-year-old Black male from Dagsboro, Delaware, was killed on Monday, September 16, 2024, in Dover. The case began with what appeared to be a vehicle-related call: around 6:00 p.m., Delaware State Police troopers were sent to the 400 block of East Denney’s Road after a vehicle was reported in a ditch.
When troopers arrived, they found Drummond at or near his vehicle with a gunshot wound. Emergency response followed, but he did not survive.
One police listing for the case says he was found next to his vehicle at 416 East Denney’s Road and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, while other news accounts reported he was found in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. In either account, the central facts remained the same: Drummond had been shot, the vehicle had ended up off the roadway, and his death was treated as a homicide.
Delaware State Police later identified Drummond publicly and said the Homicide Unit was actively investigating. The available online sources did not identify a suspect, describe a motive, or report any arrests, charges, trial proceedings, or convictions connected to his killing. Investigators continued asking the public for information, indicating the case remained open and unresolved in the publicly available reporting.
