On a summer day in 2007, the life of a young Black / African American man, Jerome Hill, was tragically cut short. At 23 years of age, Jerome was shot multiple times on Saturday, August 18, 2007, while he was inside a trailer at the Dover Air Park, located at 17 Carpenter Street in Dover, Delaware.
The Delaware State Police were called to the scene to investigate the shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Jerome Hill's body and determined that he had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation into his death was immediately launched, with authorities treating it as a homicide. In the days following the incident, an obituary for Jerome Michael Hill of Harrington was published, confirming his age and date of death. It described him as a loving person with a smile that could light up a room and mentioned his employment with a paving construction company and at a local Burger King.
Despite the efforts of the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, the case has grown cold over the years. No arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Jerome Hill, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The investigation remains open, and authorities continue to ask for the public's help for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
