On May 25, 2024, 29-year-old Jonair Pollard was fatally shot in the Capital Green neighborhood of Dover, Delaware. The incident occurred around 4:22 p.m. near New Castle Avenue and East Water Street. Responding officers found Pollard with a gunshot wound to his upper body; he was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus, where he was pronounced dead.
