In the pre-dawn hours of Saturday, April 13, 2024, a grim discovery was made at the intersection of Stanton Road and Mississippi Avenue in Southeast Washington, D.C. A Metropolitan Police Department officer on patrol happened upon a vehicle that was curiously and partially parked on the sidewalk. Inside, the officer found 35-year-old Christian Elsberry, a Black male from Clinton, Maryland, unconscious and not breathing. It was approximately 4:12 a.m.
