In the spring of 1911, a young man named John Brennan, a 25-year-old Caucasian male, had been a patrolman with the Providence Police Department for only six months. On the night of April 2nd, his brief career and life came to a tragic and abrupt end. While on duty, Patrolman Brennan responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of Franklin Park.
