Jens Magelssen, a 39-year-old Honolulu police officer, died on August 18, 2014, at the Queen's Medical Center after being taken off life support. The Honolulu medical examiner conducted an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Magelssen's death was the result of an accidental shooting at his residence in Honolulu. He had sustained injuries from the incident and was subsequently hospitalized before succumbing to his injuries.
