In the winter of 1992, a promising young life was cut short, sparking a case that would navigate a complex and challenging path toward justice. Samuel Thomas 'Tom' Barnes IV, a 25-year-old male aide to an Alabama senator, was killed by gunfire on January 15, 1992, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
