On August 11, 2016, 20-year-old African American male Justin Marquise Prentice was fatally shot alongside his 65-year-old grandmother, Ruby Prentice, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The suspect in the double homicide was identified as 66-year-old Victor Neal Prentice, the husband of Ruby and grandfather of Justin.
Authorities responded to the scene around noon and discovered both victims outside the residence. They were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
