In the summer of 2016, a promising life was tragically cut short in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Justin Marquise Prentice, a 20-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on August 11, 2016. The vibrant young man, who was known to have a love for sports including football, basketball, and soccer, was not the sole victim of this violent act. His 65-year-old grandmother, Ruby Prentice, was also killed in the incident.
