On February 27, 2019, 24-year-old JaVaris Deandre Barnes was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incident occurred in the afternoon on Beech Street, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found Barnes deceased in a vehicle.

Witnesses reported that the shooting stemmed from a dispute over payment for a car painting service. Barnes had allegedly engaged in an altercation with a 58-year-old man who had painted his car. The confrontation escalated into a physica ...Read More
