In the summer of 2015, a night in Phenix City, Alabama, was shattered by violence that ended the life of 22-year-old Edric Bernard Robinson. A Black male from Columbus, Georgia, Robinson was found fatally shot in the chest on June 27, 2015. The incident occurred in the 200 block of 17th Avenue South around 10:20 p.m. Despite the belief that there were witnesses at the scene, law enforcement officials reported that no one came forward with information in the immediate aftermath of the
shooting.
Edric, who was born on May 25, 1993, was remembered as a young man with a history of participation in local sports. He had been a part of the 2001 Peanut Bowl Championship and played for the Phenix City Dolphins Tiny Tots. His life was celebrated at a funeral service on July 3, 2015, at Spirit Filled Ministries in Columbus, Georgia, followed by his burial at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. He was survived by a loving family, including his parents and numerous siblings.
In the years that have passed since Edric Robinson's death, his case has grown cold. The Phenix City Police Department has not publicly released any detailed reports or updates on the investigation. The lack of new information has left his family and the community searching for answers.
