A 63-year-old man named Sylvester Poole lost his life in a Birmingham, Alabama shooting on November 1, 2017. Poole, a longtime resident of the area, was a married father of two and a grandfather to six. He was a graduate of A. H. Parker High School's class of 1973 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army.
