On a summer evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 5-year-old Landyn Brooks was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire that also claimed the lives of his mother and her boyfriend. The young male child, his mother, 28-year-old Arkia “Kia” Berry, and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Eric Ashley Jr., were found deceased inside their vehicle on July 13, 2024.
