On an April evening in 2017, a dispute over a cell phone escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of Brandon Durrell Conwell. A 31-year-old Black/African American male, Conwell was fatally shot on Saturday, April 22, 2017, outside a residence in Midfield, a city in the Birmingham, Alabama metropolitan area. The altercation, which turned deadly, also resulted in the death of another man, 42-year-old Larry Vincent Price. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
