On August 8, 2024, 76-year-old Anthony Jackson was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama, during a series of related shootings that also claimed the life of 49-year-old Laquita Dunn and left two others critically injured. The incidents began around 4:45 p.m. when West Precinct officers responded to reports of multiple people shot at a residence in the 1600 block of Dennison Avenue.
