In the early morning hours of January 3, 2021, a grim discovery was made inside a residence on the 2000 block of Height Street in Mobile, Alabama. Responding to a call at approximately 7:57 a.m., police officers entered the home to find two men who had been fatally shot. The victims were identified as 45-year-old George Snyder and 30-year-old Shane Dulaney.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, launching a double homicide investigation into their violent deaths.
The investigation into the killings progressed quickly. Within a few days, detectives with the Mobile Police Department identified a suspect in the case. On January 6, 2021, just three days after the bodies of Snyder and Dulaney were found, authorities located and arrested 51-year-old Jesse McClure in connection with the double homicide. The motive behind the tragic event was not immediately made public by law enforcement officials as they continued to piece together the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Following his arrest, Jesse McClure faced serious charges for his alleged involvement in the deaths of the two men. He was initially charged with two counts of murder, as well as attempted murder and animal cruelty. Subsequently, the District Attorney's office upgraded the charges against him to capital murder, signifying the severity of the crime. The case then moved into the judicial system to determine the ultimate accountability for the deaths of George Snyder and Shane Dulaney.
