On March 11, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., 22-year-old Demetrius Hunter was fatally shot at the Brother's Quick Shop gas station located at 200 Meaher Avenue in Prichard, Alabama. Hunter sustained a single gunshot wound to the torso, leading to his death. The Prichard Police Department, along with Mobile Police and Mobile County Sheriff's Deputies, responded to the scene to investigate the incident.
