In the late summer evening of August 8, 2022, the city of Opelika, Alabama, was pierced by the sound of gunfire, a tragic event that would claim the life of 33-year-old Terrence Lamar Melton. A Black male, Mr. Melton was discovered with gunshot wounds in a residential area after police were summoned to the scene around 9:00 PM.
