On the night of February 8, 2018, 19-year-old Jabbar Combs was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 600 block of Edmon Avenue in Opelika, Alabama. He was transported to East Alabama Medical Center for emergency surgery and later admitted to intensive care. Despite medical efforts, Combs was declared brain-dead on February 11, 2018. Honoring his wishes, his family proceeded with organ donation to help save others.
