On June 26, 2016, 35-year-old Joseph Holloway was found deceased at the Brookhaven Mobile Home Park, located in the 1700 block of Hurst Street in Opelika, Alabama. Authorities responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Holloway's body at the scene. The Lee County Coroner, Bill Harris, confirmed that Holloway had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, and the case was promptly classified as a homicide.
