On July 31, 2018, at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Opelika Police Department responded to a reported assault with injuries at the Hickory Haven Trailer Park, located in the 800 block of Crawford Road in Opelika, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Octavious Jamar Bennett inside a residence, fatally wounded by a gunshot.
