On June 30, 2016, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Opelika police responded to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of South Antioch Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Dontavious Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to East Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
