On a Saturday evening, September 24, 2022, a sense of normalcy was shattered outside the M&M Food Mart in Theodore, Alabama. Inside his vehicle, 27-year-old Jamarcus D. Lewis, a Black/African American male, was fatally shot. The tranquility of the evening was broken by a violent encounter that would ultimately claim a life.
