On a Saturday evening in Mobile, Alabama, the life of 19-year-old Willie Thomas Jr., a Black/African American male, was cut short by gunfire. The fatal incident unfolded on March 11, 2023, at approximately 7:33 p.m. in the parking lot of a Quick Stop Food Mart on Overlook Road. Officers from the Mobile Police Department were alerted to the shooting by someone passing by and arrived to find Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
