In the afternoon of June 1, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the calm at a gas station on West Main Street in Prichard, Alabama, leaving two people dead and a community in shock. Inside a vehicle sat 27-year-old Micheal Trotter, a Black/African American male from Mobile, and 24-year-old Henisha Scott. The two were ambushed in a sudden and violent attack that would launch a months-long investigation.
