In the early morning hours of February 21, 2017, the life of 40-year-old Idrian Gardner, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Mobile, Alabama. His body was discovered inside the doorway of a vacant apartment in the 1500 block of Heron Drive, where he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The Mobile Police Department responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at approximately 5:12 a.m.
and made the grim discovery.
Residents in the area recalled hearing the sound of multiple gunshots around 2 a.m. that same morning. One witness reported a disturbing sight: a man dragging a body into one of the abandoned, burned-out apartment units, an area known to attract criminal activity. Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Despite an extensive search of the area, which included the use of a K-9 unit, authorities have yet to make any arrests in connection with the murder of Idrian Gardner. His case remains an unsolved homicide. In an effort to bring his killer to justice, the Mobile Police Department has offered a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
