On January 17, 2023, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Mobile Police Department officers responded to a shooting at the 61Ninety West Apartments, located at 6190 Girby Road in Mobile, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 63-year-old Martyn Hands in a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to those injuries.
