In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Washington, D.C., the life of a young man was tragically cut short. On January 11, 2015, at approximately 12:40 a.m., 17-year-old Andrew Newman was shot and killed in the 200 block of T Street, NE. He was a male resident of Northeast, D.C.

Responding to the sound of gunfire, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene to find Andrew suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but tragic ...
