In the early morning hours of a cold Thursday in Washington, D.C., a life was tragically cut short. On January 12, 2006, Willie Demonia Jr., a 46-year-old man, was inside his van in the 800 block of Barnaby Street, SE. At approximately 2:30 a.m., the quiet of the night was shattered by gunfire. When the violence ended, Demonia had been fatally shot.
