On July 17, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification indicating around ten gunshots in the 800 block of Jasper Road. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area but did not observe any immediate signs of distress. Approximately 20 minutes later, a follow-up call reported a person shot at the same location.
