On September 1, 2019, 42-year-old Rasheem Emark Sledge was fatally shot at Badboyz Entertainment Center, a nightclub located at 1575 Bessemer Road in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:13 a.m. when officers from the West Precinct responded to reports of a fight at the venue. Upon arrival, they found Sledge unresponsive on the floor, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
