In the quiet community of Grove Oak, Alabama, a grim discovery was made on the evening of Thursday, August 8, 2024. Responding to a request for a welfare check at a residence on County Road 50, deputies from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office arrived to a scene of unsettling silence. After several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with the occupants, law enforcement made the decision to enter the home.
