On December 28, 2021, 65-year-old Grace Carter was attending a Bible study session at Everlasting Life Holiness Church in Prichard, Alabama. During the service, a bullet was fired through the church's door, striking Carter in the upper right chest. Emergency responders attempted CPR upon arrival but were unable to revive her. This incident marked the third homicide in Prichard within a four-day span.
