On January 14, 2022, 18-year-old Jireh Portis was fatally shot at an apartment on Bellingrath Road in Mobile, Alabama. Responding officers found her with gunshot wounds; she was transported to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Authorities identified her boyfriend, 22-year-old Dayvon Bray, as the shooter.
