In the early hours of a January morning, the life of 18-year-old Jireh Portis was tragically cut short. On January 14, 2022, she was shot and killed at the Azalea Court Townhomes on Bellingrath Road in Mobile, Alabama. Responders found her with a gunshot wound and transported her to a local hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The vibrant teenager, remembered by her father as quirky and full of energy, became another victim of gun violence.
