In the early hours of Saturday, March 21, 2026, a domestic incident in Mobile, Alabama, turned fatal, claiming the life of 40-year-old Sheanaka Poindexter. The tragic event unfolded at approximately 12:30 a.m. on the 5400 block of Vienna Avenue, where officers were dispatched following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered a distressing scene. Inside the residence, they found Poindexter suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Further investigation by the Mobile Police Department revealed that a man known to the victim had unlawfully entered the home. It was during this domestic dispute that he shot and killed her.
In connection with the homicide, authorities arrested 39-year-old Desmond Longmire. He was subsequently transported to the Metro Jail. The investigation into the death of Sheanaka Poindexter remains active.
