On December 13, 2020, 17-year-old Lindsey Motes of Chelsea, Alabama, tragically lost her life in a car accident in Sylacauga. She was a passenger in a 2009 Infiniti G37 driven by 20-year-old Christian Ryan Hickman. While traveling on Billingsley Road, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a power pole, resulting in Motes being ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
