On a warm evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 33-year-old Chaveda Willis was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. On September 4, 2023, Willis, a devoted mother and a student at Miles College, was with friends outside the Aria Restaurant and Lounge when gunfire suddenly erupted. The shooting, which also claimed the life of 24-year-old Markiezia Atkins, sent shockwaves through the community.
