On September 4, 2023, 33-year-old Chaveda Arreaiia Willis was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama, during a double homicide that also claimed the life of 24-year-old Markiezia Deactrius Atkins. The incident occurred around 2:35 a.m. outside Aria Lounge and Restaurant on 5th Avenue North in the Smithfield area. Willis and Atkins were among five individuals shot during the initial altercation.
