Jasmine Price, a 33-year-old wife and mother, was killed in a burst of rifle fire in Birmingham, Alabama. Remembered by her family as a 'beautiful soul,' her life was cut short in what her sister described as a selfless act of helping someone in need. Price was giving someone a ride in her white SUV when the vehicle was riddled with bullets. The vehicle then crashed into a small apartment building in the College Hill neighborhood and caught fire.

extinguished the blaze and discovered Price's body inside the wreckage. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family, including her husband and 4-year-old daughter, were left devastated by the senseless act of violence that took a woman described as loving, giving, and genuine. Her older sister lamented that Price's helpful nature was what ultimately led to her death.
More than three weeks after the incident, a suspect, 26-year-old Raquan Wilson of Birmingham, turned himself in to the Jefferson County Jail. He was subsequently charged with murder and is being held without bond. Further investigation revealed that Price was an innocent victim caught in the crossfire. Wilson allegedly fired a shot at another man, who then returned fire, striking Price in her vehicle. Prosecutors have stated that if Wilson had not fired the initial shot, Price would still be alive. In addition to the capital murder charge, Wilson now also faces a charge of attempted murder for firing the first shot.
