On January 31, 2023, 24-year-old Corieonna Shantrice Hines was fatally shot in her Birmingham, Alabama, apartment. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. in the 100 block of 9th Avenue West. Responding officers discovered Hines unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two female juveniles, aged 7 and 13, were also found with gunshot injuries and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
