On October 15, 2023, at approximately 12:35 p.m., 51-year-old Jennifer Lee Wear was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking near the intersection of 87th Street North and 5th Avenue North in Birmingham, Alabama. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Wear was pronounced dead at the scene.
