On July 8, 2023, 20-year-old Alajah Patric Fairfax was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident began around 6:05 PM when East Precinct officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 6800 block of 66th Street South. Upon arrival, they found 19-year-old Corey Denard Louis Jr. lying unresponsive in the roadway with a gunshot wound; he was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
