On October 16, 2023, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 1500 block of Alemeda Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 63-year-old Trudy Mustin of Bessemer, Alabama, inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel transported her to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
