On October 30, 2023, at approximately 11:58 a.m., a utility worker discovered the body of 32-year-old Felicia Raquel Smith in an alleyway in the 1500 block of Alabama Avenue Southwest in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers from the Birmingham Police Department found Smith unresponsive in a grassy area of the alley. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced her deceased at 12:19 p.m.
